Blood Donation Drive: A Noble Step Towards Saving Lives

The Red Cross Unit of St Joseph’s College, Hassan, organized a blood donation camp to instill humanitarian values and promote social responsibility among students. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Rayan Pereira SJ, who led by example by donating blood. Dr. Nagalakshmi from Government Hospital, Hassan, graced the occasion and supported the initiative.

Spearheaded by Ms. Laya Divakar and Ms. Sowmya, the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from 47 students, faculty, and medical staff. Certificates were awarded to all donors by the Government Hospital team, acknowledging their selfless contribution.

The camp successfully underscored the importance of voluntary blood donation, inspiring the youth to support lifesaving causes and engage actively in community service. The event stands as a reflection of St Joseph’s commitment to empathy, compassion, and collective action.
