St. Joseph’s College, Hassan organized a Guest Talk on Drug Awareness and Prevention for
its students and staff at the Loyola Auditorium. The session was led by Mr. Gangadarappa R.
V., DYSP, Hassan, who spoke on the harmful impact of drug abuse on individuals, families,
and the nation. He highlighted the side effects of drugs, the ways in which addiction
develops, and urged students to stay alert and spread awareness about this serious social
issue.
The DYSP also emphasized the importance of following traffic rules for personal and public
safety and addressed concerns related to sexual abuse and risky behaviour among youth,
cautioning students about their legal and social consequences. Mr. Ragavendra Prakash,
Police Inspector, Extension Police Station, Hassan, also addressed the gathering.
Both DYSP and SI were facilitated for their great service for society and state. Around 500
students from I and II year BBA, BCom, and BCA programmes participated actively by asking
questions in the programme, which served as a timely reminder to make responsible and
life-affirming choices. Dr Maxim Dias, Principal called upon the students to have the sense of
social concern in protecting the lives of all.
