Ignatian Week 2025: Celebrating the Spirit of St Ignatius of Loyola

15 August 2025

St Joseph’s College, Hassan, celebrated Ignatian Week from 11th to 14th August 2025, honouring the life and legacy of St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. This year’s theme, “Flames of Creativity”, inspired a series of student competitions—Battle of Minds (testing wit and wisdom), Trash to Treasure (turning discarded materials into art), and Shades & Strokes (painting imagination to life).

The celebrations concluded on 14th August with a vibrant valedictory stage programme featuring cultural dances and songs. Fr Lancy Fernandes SJ, Principal of St Joseph’s English Medium School, Hassan, highlighted the Jesuit philosophy of education, while Fr Maxim Dias SJ, Principal of St Joseph’s College, shared the vision and mission of AICUF. The event also marked the inauguration of AICUF activities for the academic year.

Prizes were awarded to competition winners, and the entire programme was skillfully coordinated by the AICUF team led by President Neema Grace Lobo.
