JESCOL – 1 Held at St Joseph’s College, Hassan

St Joseph’s College, Hassan, hosted JESCOL – 1 (Jesuit Collaboration and Leadership Program) on September 5–6, 2025, focusing on the Jesuit legacy, education, governance, and collaboration. The two-day program brought together faculty and staff from St Joseph’s College, St Joseph’s English Medium School, St Joseph’s Highschool and St Joseph’s PU College to deepen their understanding of the Ignatian vision of education.

The sessions on the first day, led by Fr Brian Pereira SJ, reflected on Teaching with Purpose, the Life of St Ignatius, and the History of the Society of Jesus. Mr Prashanth K engaged participants on the Characteristics of Jesuit Education, while Fr Maxim Dias SJ guided a session on Ignatian Spiritual Heritage: Spiritual Exercises and Examen.

The second day emphasized Jesuit governance and works, beginning with reflections on Leadership and Governance in the Society of Jesus by Fr Brian Pereira SJ. Mr Prashanth K facilitated sessions on the Option for the Poor and Jesuits and Lay Collaboration. A joint session on Jesuit Response to Modern Challenges (UAPs) offered insights into the Society’s global priorities.

The program concluded with an Examen and Gathering of the Fruits, leaving participants enriched with the Jesuit spirit of reflection, service, and collaboration.

JESCOL – 1 at SJC Hassan was a meaningful initiative to strengthen the Ignatian identity of the institution and to inspire educators in their mission of forming persons for others.
