Learning Beyond Classrooms: SJCH Students Experience Village Life and Social Realities

21 October 2025

At St Joseph’s College, Hassan, a Jesuit institution rooted in the tradition of forming men and women for others, social concern remains at the heart of our education.

This year’s Social Outreach Program offered our students of NSS an enriching immersion experience in Nelamangala and nearby villages, where they engaged with local communities, interacted with people, conducted awareness programmes, working in fields and brick factories, and reflected on the dignity of labour and rural life.

Students also visited Brilliant Printers, a leading hi-tech printing press in Bengaluru, to understand the blend of technology, precision, and human effort behind modern printing.

The program was supported by Bembala, the social initiative of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society, and provided valuable insights into social realities, fostering empathy, responsibility, and a deeper commitment to society.

The faculty members Mr Range Gowda DB, Mr Mohan Kumar, and Ms Ashwathi K.M and others accompanied 120 students.

The event took place from 17-19 October 2025.
