St Joseph’s College, Hassan Celebrates National Sports Day with Enthusiasm

St Joseph’s College, Hassan, celebrated National Sports Day with the active participation of students from BBA, BCom and BCA programmes. The celebration was led by Dr. Maxim Dias, S.J., Principal, along with Fr. Olvin Veigas, S.J., and the Heads of Departments, who encouraged students and staff to embrace sports and physical fitness.

The celebration featured Boys’ Volleyball, Girls’ Throwball and Staff Tug of War. The events promoted teamwork, discipline, coordination, leadership and a healthy competitive spirit.

In Boys’ Volleyball, 1st BCom emerged as winners, with 1st BCA as runners-up. In Girls’ Throwball, 3rd BCA secured the winning position, while 2nd BCom A finished as runners-up. In the Staff Tug of War, Team Rule Breakers emerged victorious, followed by Team Fearless Fighters.

The celebration highlighted the importance of sports, physical activity and teamwork in building a healthy and balanced student community. The event took place on 21st September 2026 and was coordinated by Mr Keerthi N.R, the Director of Physical Education at SJC Hassan and Mr Satyaranjan Behera, Sports Secretary – III BBA, and Mr Sagar AY,Joint Sports Secretary – II BCA.
