10 August 2025
St. Joseph’s College (SJC), Hassan warmly welcomed its alumni back to campus on 9 August
2025 for the Annual Alumni Meet 2025. The reunion brought together graduates from
2009–2025, with more than 140 alumni joining faculty, staff and current students for a day
of reminiscence, conversation and renewed commitment to the college.
A warm welcome and inspiring words
The programme was presided over by Fr. Leo Pereira, SJ, Superior of St. Joseph’s
Institutions, Hassan. Fr. Melwin Pinto, SJ, Pro-Chancellor of St. Aloysius (Deemed to be
University) and Chief Guest, urged the alumni to become strong partners in the college’s
future initiatives — stressing collaboration, mentorship and support for current students. Fr.
Maxim Dias, SJ, Principal of SJC Hassan, shared a few thoughts on the college’s direction and
invited alumni to remain actively engaged with campus life.
Alumni speakers added personal perspective and energy to the gathering. Dr. Gunith N.S.
and Mr. Omar Zubair addressed the assembly, recalling their time at SJC and encouraging
fellow graduates to contribute their experience to the college community through
mentorship, placements and collaborative projects.
Current students presented a short entertainment programme that brought smiles and
applause, providing a lively bridge between past and present. Ample time was given for
alumni to reconnect with batchmates, exchange updates, and explore opportunities for
collaboration with faculty and student groups.
The reunion concluded on a warm note with lunch served on the college premises — a
relaxed finish to a day of meaningful reconnections and renewed commitments to the SJC
family.
We thank all alumni and guests who joined us for this memorable day. If you’re an alum and
missed the meet, please stay connected — there are many ways to get involved in
mentorship, placements and campus initiatives.
