Silver Bells, Silver Bells, Its Christmas time in the city......

While the world celebrates the birth of Christ on the 25th of December, we the Josephites have begun with the celebrations a week prior itself. AICUF association of SJC, Hassan organised a Christmas week "A December to Remember" from 17th December 2018 to 22nd December 2018, with competitions and programs scheduled for each day.

Stars of SJC recreated their image through the "Star making" competition which was held on 17th of December 2018. The Acting skills of the students were very well portrayed in the "Live Crib" competition which was held on 18th December 2018. The Bakers of SJC were all set to showcase their decorative skills in the "Cake Decoration" competition that was held on 19th December 2018. Various artist of SJC displayed their artistic skills in the "Card Making" competition held on 20th December 2018. Finally the nightingales of SJC were all set to woo the crowd with their voices in the "Carol Singing" competition which was held on 21st December 2018.

On 21st December 2018 the stage was all set for the Christmas celebration. The dignitaries for the day were Rev Fr Joseph Dsouza, The Superior, Secreatary and Treasurer of Hassan Jesuit Educational Society, Rev Fr Maria Raj, The Campus Animator, SJC Hassan, Rev Fr Pratap Chandru, The Director of Navasadan, Bro Vinod from Navsadan, Rev Fr Roshan David Periera, The Director of SJC Hassan, Mr Dinesh M Gaonkar, The Principal of SJC Hassan, Ms Jenisia Fathima Lasrado, AICUF Coordinator, SJC Hassan and Ms Jane Fathima Noronha AICUF Coordinator, SJC Hassan.

Rev Fr Joseph Dsouza addressed the gathering and quoted that Christmas is not just about the bells or cakes or carols, it's about bringing about a change in our lives, it's about being a better person. He also mentioned that each one of us should try and become a better Christian or a better Hindu or a better Muslim instead of trying to convert the other person to change religion. Mr Dinesh M Gaonkar also shared his thoughts with the gathering. He mentioned that Christmas is a season to bring peace and harmony in the society but before we could bring peace in the society we ourselves have to be at peace. Only when we have the peace within ourselves it's possible to share it with others. He was very excited to announce that SJC Hassan has won an award for "Outstanding Lifeline Structure".

Mr Keerthi spoke to the gathering about the significance of Christmas which was followed by a Christmas dance by Ms Uma and team. Rev Fr Roshan David Periera then addressed the gathering, encouraged and motivated the particpants. Excitement was doubled when Santa stepped on to the stage to dance to the tune of jingle bell which was sung by Mr Shabaaz.

On 22nd December 2018 all the Staff of St Joseph's gathered for a celebration at St Joseph's P U College Auditorium. Staff from the Primary, High School, PUC and Degree had performed various acts for the occasion. Cakes were distributed to the staff and everyone dispersed for their Christmas holidays.
