St. Joseph's Institutions in Hassan are managed by the 'Society of Jesus', a Catholic Order founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola. They are generally identified as Jesuits. The (Jesuit) aims and objectives of the college, other than imparting the academic requirements of teaching and study are specially catered towards a holistic training of the personality in order to make them persons for others, for the society at large and for the country. The educational system includes a pattern of training that will imbibe the basic values of tolerance, humanity, consistency and pursuit towards excellence in every student. St. Joseph's College, Hassan is managed by the Hassan Jesuit Educational Society (HJES) which also has a few other institutions of education at the school and college level under its care. The HJES aims at executing the noble objectives of the Jesuit philosophy of education.
