College Motto

The college motto is 'Service the light of life'. Education at St. Joseph's finds its fulfilment in forming men and women for service and becoming beacon of light and hope in our country and in the world at large.

The emblem of the College dates back to the humble beginnings of this esteemed institution in the year 1956. It symbolizes its ethos, status and purpose. The crest of St. Joseph's First Grade College spots two scrolls-one is placed above the shield, on which is inscribed the motto of the institution- 'Service the light of life' and the other scroll is placed beneath, which bears the name of the institution.

The shield bears four symbols. The symbol with IHS and a CROSS, is a mark of Christian faith symbolizing Jesus Christ. The SUN represents the warmth that sustains life. The LOTUS in full bloom symbolizes self-giving and the HANDS pouring gifts, symbolizes abundant blessings and goodness of God.
