The Eco Club of SJC, Hassan constantly makes an effort to protect the Mother Nature and spread awareness about the same. Often the members of Eco Club along with their coordinators Ms Shwetha M A and Mr Arjun, strive to create awareness among people to save the nature. In the era of deforestation and destruction, even planting one sapling will make a huge difference and show our love for the nature.

To show our respect to the Mother Nature, We the members of Eco Club celebrated environment day in the college premises for three consecutive days. On day 1, painting competition was organised with the theme "Save water, Save Earth". On Day 2, students showcased their talents by creating marvels out of waste. House models, book stands, photo frames, vases etc were being created out of the waste materials.

The day 3 began with a formal function which was held in the auditorium. Mrs Suma Veena, Faculty at the department of Kannada, Hassan Public School was the chief guest was the programme. His speech motivated all of us to nurture our surroundings with utmost care. She said "Our responsibility does not stop after planting the tree but also should have a regular check on how the plant grows. The future is this generation and the responsibility rests within the hands of this era to reflect the city into a Green City".

The other dignitaries on the dais were Rev Fr Roshan David Periera SJ, Director SJC Hassan, Mr Dinesh M Goankar, Principal SJC Hassan, Ms Shwetha M A, Eco Club coordinator, S JC Hassan and Mr Arjun H S, Eco club coordinator, SJC Hassan. After the screen of the formal program was pulled down, saplings were planted in the college premises.
