The heads of the department of Commerce and Management, Ms Prathima Prabhu and Mr. Pradeep Kumar, under the guidance of The Director, Rev Fr Roshan David Periera and The Principal Mr Dinesh M Gaonkar organised a State level Inter - Collegiate Commerce and Management fest named EXPLORICA. It?s a platform for the students to explore their skills and talents and put their theoretical knowledge to practical use.

The term EXPLORICA is derived from the term "Explore" which means to travel or look in to detail. In EXPLORICA the students travel through 7 different events namely ADEPTO (Best Manager), COALITIION (Team Buiding), NEW VISION (Marketing), CASH IN FLASH (Finance), CHISEL (Human Resource), WIZ BIZ (Business Quiz), and STEPS (Dance). Around 20 degree colleges participated in the fest.

400 students from different degree colleges in and around Hassan, Chickamagalore and Chennarayapattna, gathered in the quadrangle of St Joseph's College, Hassan to witness the Inaugural ceremony of EXPLORICA 2K19 which commenced at 10am on the 31st of January 2019. Mr Prakash Gowda, The Superintendent of Police was the Chief Guest for the programme. Mr H P Swaroop, Member of Zilla Panchayath, Kandali, Hassan was the guest of Honour. Mr Lokesh, Owner of HNR groups, Hassan, was the main sponsor for the food, was also present for the inauguration. The programme was presided over by Rev Fr Gilbert Saldanha SJ, The Head Master of St Joseph's High School, Hassan.

After the inaugural the events were conducted, the details of which are given below:

1) ADEPTO: This event was for the Best Manager. 3 rounds were held to test the managerial skills of the students.

2) COALITION: "In unity there is strength" was the motto of this event. Various games displayed the coordination skills of the students.

3) WIZ BUZ: students found wracking their brains with this event of business quiz that focused on testing the intellectual skills of the students.

4) NEW VISION: this Marketing event bought out the aggressive spirit that a marketer requires.

5) CHISEL: Managing people is not at all an easy task but the students displayed their people handling skills through this HR event.

6) CASH IN FLASH: A finance event that focused on giving the students an idea to manage the finances in an organisation.

7) STEPS: Dance event that portrayed the Indian culture with the theme "Unity in diversity"

Valedictory programme was then conducted for which Rev Fr Marcel Pinto, The Director of CMSS, was the chief guest. Programme came to a standstill with the distribution of prices. The overall championship was bagged by Best College, Hassan.
