As the siren rang and the red van ran into the gates of St Joseph's College, outsiders considered there is a fire that broke out in the college campus, however at the campus of St Joseph's excitement could be seen everywhere as they would be getting a chance to witness the demo of extinguishing the fire which was to be lit on purpose. The coordinators of the adventure club Mr Pradeep Kumar V and Mr Anil MS along with the club members organised an awareness program on "Fire and Safety" on 21.09.2019. This awareness program was conducted in collaboration with the District fire extinguishers office.

A small formal programme was organised in the auditorium which was hosted and welcomed by Ms Deepali. District fire officer, Chief guest, Mr Ranganath, Director of the college, Rev Fr Roshan David Periera, Principal of the college, Mr Dinesh M Gaonkar, Club Coordinators, Mr Pradeep Kumar V and Mr Anil MS, and the club president Mr Mohammed Shayan, made their present felt on the dais.

Mr Ranganath addressed the gathering saying that fire is a disaster and mostly it is man-made. Fire and safety is often a neglected element in schools and colleges and most of the schools and colleges still function without the basic safety amenities. He explained about the types of fires and which extinguisher can be used for different fires.

Formal programme came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms Sinchana after which there was live demo from the team on the grounds of St Joseph's campus.
