14th of June 2018 was the memorable day for all the parents and the Students who were admitted to St. Joseph's College, Hassan. The College organized 'Orientation Day' to the parents and the Students. The Chief Guest of the day, Rev. Fr. Joseph D'Souza SJ, Superior and Secretary of Hassan Jesuit Educational Society address the parents and the students by quoting, 'India being multi-cultural, multi-lingual nation, we need to inculcate in the minds of the students the aspect of living together despite the differences. In doing so we can build a rich nation, celebrating its diversity'. The Director, Rev. Fr. Roshan Pereira SJ inspired the students taking about the importance of being updated through digital media, in the competitive world of today. The Principal Mr. Dinesh M Gaonkar spoke on the challenges of present day education and how the college has equipped itself with the modern facilities to meet those challenges. The guest of honour Rev. Fr. Pratap Chandru SJ, the Director of Navasadhana inspired the students by enumerating the history of the Jesuits in the field of Education. He also remembered the stalwarts who studies in our institutions, namely APJ Abdul Kalam, Rahul Dravid, Arun Jetly, Leander Pace...and many more. He gave a call to the students to take these figures as an example and strive towards achieving their goals. Mr. Range Gowda, professor of Kannada department compered the programme. Ms. Prathima Prabhu, HOD of Commerce welcomed the gathering and Mr. Guru Prasad, Department of Commerce, proposed the vote of thanks.
