SJFGC organised Orientation Programmes for the students of 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year on the 18th, 19th and 20th of June. Jesuit Scholastics Nithin Monteiro, Anand Paul and Joseph Gerald conducted the session separately for different sections.

The Programme was scheduled into 4 parts, the description of each is given below.

Session 1: LIFE
The groups were divided and students had to give their opinion on various problems faced in life. Problems such as unemployment, poverty, social stress, domination by the upper class of people, effects of negative thinking, effects of drugs and drinking etc were specially pondered upon. Students were given inputs on how to lead a good life and how their relationship with their parents should be. An inspiring video of Dr Abdul Kalam was shown to the students.

Session 2: Goal
Under this session students were made to understand why it is necessary to set a goal and how to set a goal right from childhood. Students were asked about their personal goals and means to achieve them were made known to them. Pictures and clips were used as illustrations.

Session 3: Leadership
The qualities of a good leader, responsibility of a leader, how to lead and be a leader, how to treat co-workers by being a leader were some of the topics that were discussed under this session. To motivate the students, examples were shown in form of a clip which displayed a hotel where in the deaf and dumb work and how they are treated at work.

Session 4: Interview
Students, especially the final year students were given tips on how to prepare for the interview, how to dress right for the interview, what kind of career needs to be chosen, how to manage time and how to carry oneself professionally.
